HomeInstructorsMatt Skollar Professional Actors Studio November 22, 2016 Instructors Matt Skollar was born in NYC and began performing at a young age, studying dance and singing that led him to his first professional job at age 10 as a young prince in an 8 week run of The King and I. His Passion for performing grew as he got older and after 2 years of college Matt dropped out and auditioned to be a student at the prestigious New Actors Workshop in NYC. Matt studied for 2 years full time with Master teachers the late Mike Nichols, George Morrison and Paul Sills. The emphasis of his training was steeped in Stanislavsky, and Improv. His education led to Matt quickly finding himself in several off Broadway plays and discovered by the Abrams Artist Agency. Matts recent credits include guest star roles on CBS MaGyver as Omar Munoz opposite Lucas Till and NBCs Game Of Silence as Galvan Robles opposite Larenz Tate. He has a supporting role as Bennie in the Feature Film “Beast Beast” which premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film festival, Executive Producer Alec Baldwin. Matt has also guest starred on such shows as HBO’s Sex and the City, NBC’s Law and Order SVU as Victor Spicer and had a recurring role on ABC’S One Life to Live. He has appeared in various indie films and was featured in the Oscar winning best picture The Artist in 2012. His stage work also included a two-man show in the NYC Fringe Festival and performances at the prestigious Williamstown Theater Festival. Matt has co-written co-starred in an original TV pilot called Outside the Perimeter with fellow studio actors/teachers Franco Castan and Scott Oakley. Matt found The Professional Actor’s Studio in 2012 where he studied with Nick Conti in his advanced class for 2 years which was critical in sharpening his skills. Matt has enjoyed sharing his wealth of knowledge with his students at the Professional Actor’s Studio since 2015 and is proud to be a part of this strong team of teachers at Nick’s studio.
